i got the bike about 10 days ago. its been bobbed out already. so far just took off the blue collar rear fender and hardtail strut the bike. plans to tear it down sometime in next few months. redo wheels different color, add front brake, new seat, new peanut tank, paint.

I never understand that either. I had two VLX bobbers and part of why I like them is that they look like hardtails but still have a comfy ride.

cause it looks so much better slammed then at stock height is only reason why i did the hardtail strut. i think any bobber ive seen at stock height looks like its missing something. it needs to be lowered. but this is just my opinion.

this weekend plan to do some repainting. the guy who built the bike didn't at all paint it right. where the headlight, triple trees, and various other parts that are chipping black paint. the chrome or metal underneath isn't primered or looks like it wasn't scuffed or sanded at all. its gonna be a long weekend sanding, primering, painting.

I really like that shad of white on the tank and the sheen. I don't usually like a white bike, but that shade combined with the white walls and the tan seat really look good. It gives it a really nice vintage look.

Some people hardtail, so they can actually have the ridgid. Lots of guys think it's blasphemous to put a spring seat on a non-rigid frame.
I think it looks pretty good. How tall are your apes? I have a set of 18", but Think it will be too tall. |
