They might be shooting for a hole in the market. Sometimes consumers are ready for a class size that's right in the middle. If they can make it significantly cheaper for almost the same performance, it could be a winner.

I'm hoping that Honda was going to make a CB600R. That being a downsized version of the CB1000R. I think I would be a good fit for a upright sports bike. I just don't need 1000cc's of superbike engine to commute on the highways.

As been pointed out earlier in the thread, a CBR500(46hp), doesn't match up well with a Ninja 650 (64hp). I have strong feeling that Honda's 500 will be at least as expensive as a Ninja 650.

IIRC Honda's new 500s are purpose built to fit new horsepower and weight restrictions in the UK and the world over. If I'm right any of the big 4 trying to fit the universal half liter market would have to be just as heavy and have similar power ratings.

Honda will probably price them down to compete, like with the NC700X. At least that's my hope.

Yes....Like the Valkyrie. That's probably the baddest stock cruiser there ever was.

I'd like to see something retro like this Kawasaki

or Triumph.

Why not. Everyone in Hollywood is making bank on retro movies. Really pushes the nostalgia.

The r/s is their retro/standard attempt, someone online even put a triumph looking seat on their's. I'd like to see some new shadows made with the 1300 cc's in them...
