That sucks what she did to you, and I would've laid on the horn hard and long. Thanks for sharing with us. Hopefully now you can let it go and move on. Maybe go out this weekend and get yourself a nice long cruise down a peaceful road to get your zen back.
The thing is, the longer you fret and stew over it, the longer you're going to be oblivious to the next person that might cut you off. Rage produces tunnel vision, and that's a bummer when you need to be watching the whole road. |

Thanks for all your comments. No, I didn't have any rage (well, maybe a little at the moment it happened), but I was over it by the time I noticed the decal on the back of her window. My first thought after "WTF" was, "Man it must suck to be her." I did follow her for a couple of blocks, but only because my mechanic's shop was that way. I did hope a little bit that she thought I was chasing her down, but I wasn't riding her tale or anything, just proceeding on my way.
Truth of the matter was I saw the potential for someone to come over into my lane at that lane-shift and was ready for it when it happened. What surprised me was her immediate, over-the-top anger and then her deliberate, hard-swerve into me. Fortunately I had rolled off the throttle and covered the brake when she first came over into my lane so it wasn't difficult to slow down and let her go ahead of me. Riding is my Zen and I don't let anything interfere with it. |

Don't anger at those who don't pay attention or are prideful in response knowing they were wrong. It changes nothing about the current ride ot future rides. Its part of the experience of being on two wheels whether a bicycle, Vespa or motorcycle.
Expect stupidity, pride.......and ride. We cannot teach anyone a "lesson" though anger and hate. I have always been a happy evader. I waved to people that have been wrong and I believe they know then they screwed up and are sorry. The one finger salute proves nothing and does nothing to make people look and in fact may makes them happier they offered up a pucker moment. We are in control. ANYTIME I survive a close call by an inattentive driver I am very happy.
