Default So Its colder here (ok 40 degrees at night)

And I have all the gear . FF/Tourmaster/boots/Gloves/ Over pants/..all the hard stuff and I cannot for a moment understand how anyone can wear all this stuff on 70+ degree days. I feel like a fighter pilot. I can barely turn my head. But I feel far less vulnerable and that is not a good thing. I find I am taking my two 45 degree routine daily sweepers faster and deeper.

Respect to those who do this year round in the Spring and Summer.

I still ride because its convenient and seems silly and a waste to drive my truck with just me in it to go 7 miles in 15-20 minutes.

No joy riding in my world for the next few months.

Just ranting....

I agree. I wear a full leather jacket year round. It has zippered vents for the warmer months, and a removable liner for the cold. DEFINITELY bulky. I have been wearing that with the liner and an insulated set of camo hunting bibs (been in the 30s here) and I too have felt far less vulnerable and a whole lot more brave without realizing it. Had to check myself and get right before I got myself hurt. Been riding for many moons, but this is my first season attempting to ride year round. I usually will ride on occasion in the winter months but the trips were few and far between. We'll see how things go my way with the weather changes.

I saw a dude this summer with all the gear you listed........it was over 100 degrees that day! I was fully dressed like that today, but it was 45 degrees when I left.

LOL...

I hit 29 degrees riding home the other night.

You wanna test your gear? At that temp you'll find every chink in your armor real fast. I was wishing I had a can of spray foam to fill in some of the gaps...

Yeah I agree..... I have not been in snow except for a few contracts I did in Branson MO from Feb through May. I am not a cold weather maven even though I grew up with distinct four seasons. Defineatly pussified.
I feel like the Michelin man on the bike. Last year was the first year here in Myrtle I rode year round. It was a mild Winter though so they said. I will ride in the rain in August...but not under 40 daytime temps in the Winter which is rare here.

Mongrel is right. Cold air finds the razor thin chinks in the armor.

every day I rode to work last week, while sandy was up north, it was in the low 30s here. wind chill brought that down to 25 a couple of days and that's before getting on the bike and taking off. i'd have to say that is a little chili. lol

same here...LOL but I am glad for two reasons. I hate two up riding and I would not want her to start riding. I am a lone wolf on the bike and that's the way I like it. When we go out together we take my truck.....It could use the mileage.
