Default Good gloves for the cold??

Well i'm sure we've done this one before but i'm bringing it back.
For those that ride in the cold. 30-40F. What gloves is out there that actually works without having to spend 100-200 bucks? I commute to work in the AM and the temp along with 70-80 mph is quite sharp on my non-winter gloves.
Just wanted to see what folks are having luck with.

As always, thanks for the feedback and advise!

any gloves will work better if you put a pair of plastic surgical gloves on underneath.

I think that depends on the amount of TIME you would be riding. I ride 15-20 minutes and regular fleece lined riding gauntlet gloves suffice. Another 20 minutes perhaps not. I can ride for 20 minute commute without heaters in the coldest local weather conditions Between 35-40 at night. Never lived where I needed them and I am thin blooded. I hate the cold. Give me 95 in the shade all day long..... with 80% humidity at midnight.

I have Many pairs of good Gauntlet type gloves for biking snow boarding & scuba diving,,,I like the snow boarding gloves for biking they're insulated plus I buy a big pack of (Hand Warmers) and put one in each glove,,the heat they put out can last 4 - 5 hours. I just did a Funeral detail (300 miles round trip ) in 34-38 degrees my hands were toasty warm,,also a wind guard for your grips would help as well....

I've got ALPINESTARS ARCTIC DRYSTAR TEXTILE STREET GLOVES FLUORESCENT YELLOW that are working pretty well.

Mittens...

Yup...you heard right-MITTENS. Aint no glove made (without a battery or wires) that can compete with a decent pair of skiers mittens, or military surplus mittens.

Don't sweat the "I CAN'T FEEL MY CONTROLS!!!" issue...

Once you get used to them they are fine.

Look, on some days you can be fashionable or warm...

I chose warm, and even the "Harley Dude" at work doesn't give me any lip...
