Ok...Haven't been on here in forever but this email came and pointed at your other post. Can't really answer that one until I know about your accident.
No doubt there will be some surprises that happen to each of us on a ride. If you remember your safety training then you know that crashes happen due to factors (i.e. little things). Get enough of them to add up and it becomes a recipe for a crash.
From what you have said I seriously doubt you are in any position to pursue legal or insurance action against this lady. It's common knowledge that your bike will stop in a shorter distance on it's tires than in a slide. I am not aware of anyone teaching folks how to "lay er down" ...you know...unless you are a stuntman/person. That said it is as you have found out extremely easy to low side by grabbing a fistful of front brake, especially while turning to avoid. You need to pick one or the other...avoid or brake. If you choose brake then go as straight as you possibly can and remember to use the rear brake as well.
I am not sure what your line of sight was prior but if you could see the car a ways off at the end of the driveway you need to be thinking that is something that could ruin a pleasant ride, no? I don't remember what you said your speed was but around here that probably would have been marked for 25mph. How fast were you going?
You don't need to ride in fear but with respect. They aren't always (or hardly ever) going to see you. If all you got was a bruise you should consider yourself fortunate. Bruises heal. Chrome can be replaced. You've lived to ride another day. Take care.
