I saw a video on Cruiser Customizing where they talked about an asymmetrical install so that at speed they are now lined up. Seemed to make sense at the time but now that I think about it, it doesn't. I'll stick with the stock grips for now.

Being aligned at highway speed or any other setting makes no sense whatsoever since your hands would be covering them. Symetrical at the closed position would appear to be the logical way to go imo as a previous poster displayed with his lettered leather grips.

I just replaced my iso grips with Biltwell Kung Fu's which are a lot more comfortable for me, but the Kury grip was pretty easy to pull off with wd-40 and some elbow grease. You can totally just do it yourself, I would think.

My grips seem to be placed the same as yours. I find that the left grip in the the throttle position feels better to me, as it places more of the rubber in the palm of my hand. When I and riding the throttle side is at the same location as the left. It feels the best that way for me. When I'm parked they do not line up the same, but that does not bother me as I prefer that they feel comfortable. That being said when I installed them the fitment was pretty tight so I did not glue the left in place. I think the installers were correct in how they installed them. IMO.

I just looked at my set, they are symetrical.
The throttle side does feel better at road speed, the tip of my fingers fit ahead of the rubber. Kind of gives a little more finger grip if that makes sense. Go back and tell them it isn't right and see if they will fix it for free. The customer is always right from what I've heard

STEP 11 In one smooth motion, slide the grip into your desired installed position. (We recommend having a row of ISO-Pads across ones palm.) I believe this to be the same as the throttle position. This is not the symmetrical location but the comfort location.
