Under the influence and having it in your system are two different things.

The law says that you can't have even a trace amount in your system if you have a CDL. So the law must be wrong in your opinion then. Regardless of what he had in his system, he plowed into a group of riders and killed four. Guilty is guilty either way. I'm not saying this just because it was bikers involved either.

Nope. I've already stated that he should suffer any consequences, regarding his CDL, for having drugs in his system. I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying that a positive result on a drug test does not mean he was driving under the influence, nor does it mean that drugs contributed to the accident.

I'm not even trying to say that he didn't run into that group and kill those bikers. Just trying to point out that we don't know the facts. We don't know why he ran into them. We cannot say, with any credibility, that the sentence did not fit the crime. Even knowing that, people are still quick to jump to uninformed emotional responses.
