If this question has been posed I apologize in advance. I want to put saddlebags, sissy bar, and luggage rack on my 09 Shadow 750. A friend purchased those items for his bike and, when he started putting them on, they didn't fit mounting together. Are there any companies that sell all three that the forethought has been done to ensure the items will mount properly? My Shadow is my primary mode of transportation for work, play, and travel and I need well made bags, racks, and bar. Thanks.

Honda OEM is a source.

Several companies make nice sissy-bars with luggage racks... so it is a question of what you are willing to pay... and yes, you'd expect the $50 ones to not fit like they should, lol.
You can't go wrong with Hondaline sissy-bar/luggage-rack... you KNOW it will fit! But, don't rule out reputable aftermarket manufacturers either! As for bags... that is a matter of personal choice and budget. So many choices out there... hard bags, vinyl, leather, nylon, big, bigger, huge, small, square, rectangle, slants, .... etc. etc. THEN there's always the choice of hard-mounting, quick-disconnects, throw-overs, zip-offs... lockable or non-lockable... Is your head swimming yet? I'd suggest you start looking at decent retailers online... and look at bags other people have... don't be afraid to ask, "Hey, where'd you get those?" when you find a style you like on another bike! |

Thanks. I had no idea Honda had a line of accessories. Duh. I like the black color for the bags to offset the bike color. I like the bags that are either hard mounted or quick detach. The larger the better cos I want to be able to carry all my bike "stuff" when on a trip. I didn't realize I will probably be spending about as much as the bike is worth to put all this stuff on it. Haha. Thanks again for the input.

I purchased a Hondaline luggage rack, sissy bar, mounting bracket and saddlebag supports - again all Hondaline. Everything fit together perfectly. When I bought my Mustang seat, I also replaced the Honda back rest with a Mustang back rest. The saddlebags are Saddlemen Highwayman (very inexpensive so if they don't last, I wont be upset).

I like your setup. Looking at your bike the only difference I see between the Aero and Spirit is the front fender. Is that correct? If so, I like your front fender much better than the Aero front fender. And would replace mine in a heartbeat if they are interchangeable.

The front tires are different too . . . the Spirit tire is taller and narrower compared to the Aero. The Aero has more of a retro look.

Aeros have a lot of different parts. The rear fender is different along with the fender supports witch is the main thing you have to look at when getting sissy bar/luggage rack supports. I have been trying to sell the one that came off my aero but every “buyer” has been a different bike so the support holes don’t line up rite.
If you are looking for a Honda line sissy bar/support/luggage rack combo I will cut you a good deal on mine. Came off a 04 aero. |

I had the Honda OEM rear sissy bar/pad with OEM saddlebag supports and Saddleman Express Cruis'n Pouch bags, size large. Everything fit fine. The main problem I felt was you couldn't go very large with the bags UNLESS you moved the position of the rear turn signals, which I didn't do. The bags were nice but not big enough to stuff large items in. No way I could have stowed my riding jacket like I do now.

I have a cobra sissy bar and hondaline bags. Both are nice. Cobra has a luggage rack that goes with as well.
