FRINGE=COWBOYS
I'll just resurrect this one rather than re-typing a reply... Ok...you asked for it...well maybe not "you" but someone somewhere with an inquiring mind wanted to know... "What's up with all the fringe and conchos?" Well, son, I'm glad you asked... It comes from a long line of Hollywood Cowboys and Cowgirls dating all the way back to and even before the Illustrious Buffalo Bill Cody! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you "silver and fringe"! Roll tape... The Man, The Myth, The Legend! Wild Bill himself...(notice the 'bling' and the cut-away chaps) Report this imageBill had the first Vintage Mustang Seat (ironically, it was mounted ON a mustang!)... Report this imageMoving onto some more interesting examples...Johnny Ringo's "Rig"... Report this imageAnd another early example of a Mustang seat... Report this imageHere's a solo seat on a very early Shadow model VT1.5... Report this imageAnd for a fitting ending to our stroll down memory lane...the obligatory "chick on a bike" shot...welll...erm....oh you get it.... Report this imageI am hopeful that this has proven somewhat beneficial in solving the modern Oh....NOW I GET IT! Report this image

Personally, the fringe thing doesn't suit me, or bobbers either, but that is one of the things I think is so cool about motorcycles...there are so many ways that people enjoy them, in so many styles. There's no right way, no best way, to enjoy what we enjoy. I like seeing them all, even the ones that aren't for me.

I put some fringe on my floorboards years ago. I liked the Indian type look. I thought I`d take it off after a year, but it`s still there. Actually I thought it would fall off by now.
