This right here is the winner! While I don't like the show and wouldn't purchase the merchandise, I would wear a t-shirt, out of respect and gratitude, if someone from my family bought me one. I've seen a mix of people wearing SoA gear walking a long side 1% clubs at our local biker bar with no issues. It's about attitide not attire......

This is starting to get funny. I’m not trying to be a @ss but how many people on here have had a run in with a 1%er that ended badly. I’m not asking about a friend’s brother or your brother-in-law or something you heard on the grape-vine but you, yourself. The way half of you are coming off you think a SOA shirt is a death warrant. How often do you see someone wherein “colors” aka back patches you think they all go up to a 1%ers club house and ask for permission? Do you think they get the **** kicked out of them every week? Since 2008 (when SOA started) there has been a huge increase in the amount of clubs that have been started.
I’m not saying that it has not happened BECAUSE IT HAS but it is unlikely. I don’t where SOA clothing because I know it’s a show and I don’t where branded clothing I’m too cheap to buy it. On top of all this some of the hells angels embrace the show. Sonny Barger along with other hells angels have been cast members even if only for a few episodes. There’s even a law suit started up agents FX calming the president. Of the Hells Angels New York chapter came up with the idea of SOA |

There is a HA Clubhouse about a couple miles from us in Socastee. A member lives in our community on the next street over. I have followed him in a few times. He is friendly enough. I have another customer I have known for a few years who is a member of another club here who support the HA club. Red Devils. He said they don't care who wears SOA gear. It's laughable really. They care about REAL MC clubs entering their turf. Not "wannabee bikers wearing TV wear". He told me something I did not know. The "Nomad President" in the show this season is played by real Hells Angel member Rusty Coones who is the founder of the Orange County chapter of the HA and served as president of the San Fernando Valley chapter.
Most of these guys are friendly when people don't get in their faces or ask too many questions. These guys don't really want to create a police action and the subsequent bad PR having a silly dust up with a civilian wearing SOA gear That brings much more unwanted heat to their clubs especially in a small town like this where people know who they are by name and face and especially now since 34 of them were arrested earlier this year in a operation called Red Harvest and had their faces and names in the local paper and Net. They have a lot more to worry about than a civilian wearing a TV show's Logos where one of their own guest stars. BTW There is no official SOA gear with three panel rockers. FX makes sure their swag passes the "sniff test" I am sure they know despite all the disclaimers, they may still be held liable if someone got hurt because of wearing their stuff. I won't wear it because it's silly looking on a bike. If I did not own a bike I might wear a cap or something if it were given to me. I was told at the end of the day it comes down to attitude of the wearer and the member. If a prospect wants to mess with someone wearing a replica cut, there could be issues for the wearer and the prospect bringing needless heat on the club. In a small town like this they have to be very low key. In a place like LA they probably can get away with more under the radar. I frequent a local independent shop that's adjacent to a 1% clubhouse associated with HA.
I've seen guys in their SOA gear just laughed at by others who hang out there. The guys who work in the shop are friends of mine. I want to keep it that way. So I've seen, not violence-- that would never happen there-- but instead humiliation probably inflicted by prospects. I don't want to be involved with that; yeah, I'm too old for that crap--from either source. So, as far as I'm concerned, if you want to wear your SOA gear when you're out shopping at Wal-Mart, super. Just don't expect to wear it and ride with me. It may not work out too well. I'm not responsible for how everyone behaves. Sent from my iPhone using Motorcycle.com App

Now, I do see a lot of people in this thread trying to shame others by saying things like, "safety", or "you wouldn't ride with me". Whatever. If you don't like the gear, good for you. I don't wear it but I sure as hell am not going to try to ruin someone else's good time by shaming them. |

Harley Davidson is a huge sponsor of SOA, I am not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. Will they release an SOA, SAMCRO edition and risk diluting the brand as a cartoon? Who would buy such a bike? Maybe a collector

Both my wife and myself enjoy watching SOA. Arguably, it's well written and the plot twists keep you coming back for more but it's just fantasy when all is said and done. I'm a hardcore bike rider just getting back into the scene and am a member of a local chapter. I smile when I see folks wearing SAMCRO gear but there's really nothing wrong with it and has been previously posted, is it really any different to someone wearing a "Who killed JR" sweatshirt ?

True dat, and that's been a hard thing to get across in this thread. I'm probably less likely to wear the fake gear because I have a real motorcycle; but if some guy likes the show & wants to show it, have a ball, I say. It's not about the attire.
OTOH, if somebody thinks that wearing fake MC gear makes him look like a badass, that's a wrong turn to make, kinda like thinking that wearing UFC stuff makes you a MMA fighter. If it's about being a fan, great; but if it's about pretending to be something you're not, that's laughable and potentially dangerous. It's all in the attitude.
