Anyone have any experience with either Hawk or Torc helmets. Need to buy a new helmet without breaking the bank. Saw these brands on the web, but all the reviews sound like spam. Any help is greatly appreciated

I like G Max, for my everyday lid, 3/4 helmet. When its cold and wet I wear a HJC modular. Never heard of the brands you are asking about, wally world sells helmets fairly cheap, check them out. But you best bet is a local bike shop, they will take care of you. And is your head worth a quality lid or just a cheapy?

i've had a hawk or two... and just bought two modulars for $75 each from leather up. the bike shop had a modular for 200+. so i'm good with the hawk. i ride mostly without a lid but on interstate and/or in cold weather i like the modular type full face. i know the hawk will probably not last as long as the top shelf but its 1/3 the price. i am happy with them... but that's me.

I'm not familiar with those two brands, sorry.
As stated before, HJC makes darn good helmets at reasonable prices. Do you have a Cycle Gear near you? They have pretty good prices on their store brand DOT helmets...Sometimes very good prices when they are on sale. I own two of them myself. Nothing fancy, but I've had no problems with them, either. My totally unsolicited opinion on purchasing helmets: Go someplace where you can try them on rather than ordering online. Nothing against online dealers...But a helmet that doesn't fit properly is a bad helmet at any price.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I knew I would get honest opinions here instead of overblown reviews on the same website selling the stuff.
