Whatever you do, don't lower it. If you think the ride is stiff now...

Congrats, they are fun little bikes.

Lots of things you can do with that bike; have fun with it!

I've seen a few 1200s, looks like you got a nice ride. And you get the feel of knowing your "practically" the first owner. Ride and enjoy! I hear there are a lot of options for forward controls and such if you find it being uncomfortable.

I'm only 6' and I was cramped with the stock foot controls, so I put forwards on it. Helped a lot.

I'm 6 feet tall; forwards really helped. Actually, I ended up installing foot pegs everywhere there was room. For longer rides, I found I needed to change position a lot.

BTW, I had a '96 1200 conversion with Progressive shocks, lowered 1/4 inch.

Marlboro Man...

No one learns to ride with a 1200 conversion Harley.

Harley Davidson...

Yeah well I did.

Marlboro Man...

Well that explains it.

That thing was a beast, Dave, and they gave me $6K trade when I bought my Fat Bob--almost exactly what I paid for it, minus conversion cost of course. But that was only $500 or so, minus labor. <grin>

I have always maintained that serious Sporty pilots are some of the craziest yet sanest people I know, and having been one I should know
