Well, since I have to ride 3 hrs to San Antonio for VA Dr. appts these days and the Southern Cruisers Riding Club is planning their annual Polar Bear run for January 1st, I need to sort out my cold weather stuff myself. I had one ride to SA with temps at the start round 49 or so and after just getting over being sick. Will have to adjust a few things.
One thing is to not make the same mistake of putting on my regular boots when I intended to use the water, hence wind proof boots that are similar. I'd already had enough trouble getting out of town with one thing or another. As I was getting up to road speed outside of town I realized I'd put my regular, breezy boots on. My feet didn't freeze, but they weren't toasty warm either. Though I almost pulled my rain boots over them just to block the wind. Will have another two hour ride this Tuesday to get some fingerprints done (probably going to join the Texas State Guard) and visit parents in the same town. I wish I'd embezzled from the family fund for some fork mounted deflectors when I could have. No way I can afford it now though. Yeah, I've been absent for a few weeks. Probably won't be checking in that much now either, just on and off.
