I don't get this high-school mentality of calling other people "posers". Who cares what he does if it doesn't hurt you or anyone else? The biker's motto it's freedom, until you go online, then it's gossip.
Ribbing aside, I think it's great that you went on the toy run for the kids. Bravo on that. |

Any different than all the Sturgis posers who trailer their bikes up there?
Kudos for riding! I usually draw the line at 40 degrees!

Let me introduce you ![]() This guy was plastered all over the place as the poster child for delinquent Bikers this ..is a FRAUD.. a local dunk.. not even a motorcycle rider .. a POSER. Set up by Times magazines staff specifically to take a small disturbance and sensationalize it at the expense of all there I have no hard and fast figures but I would say that at least half of what is attributed to rowdy "biker" behavior at events comes from people like our drunk friend above.. POSERS..it is not a high school mentality to be pissed at posers.. it is good common sense. Last edited by CrazyDave; 11-26-2012 at 04:23 PM. |

The fact that you confronted him about HIM not ridding his bike would disagree with it "not being about me".. Now if you confronted him about not bring gifts or money... then yes, i would agree with your statement... yes, he is a poser, but really, is it about being a poser?? I have been to a number of mc events in a car, mostly cuz my bike was under repar, but still... its NOT about being on a motocycle! I think this is kinda silly really...

Having ridden for well over fifty years, mostly in the High Sierras, in ANY weather you can imagine, I thing O.F. done did good! When we rode, we made damn certain that our ski gear went with us simply because we never knew what the weather would/could turn into. I have no sympathy for a blatant poser, unless of course he brought boo coo toys or dollars and we watch him/her hand it over to the kids. Then maybe, just maybe-------!

We have a local little bike show every year. For my sins I get to be one of the judges, but I digress..
There's a dude that I know from other circles that shows up to the show every year dressed like a bad ass. Sportin' his dew rag, unshaven, Harley T shirt, biker boots and hanging with the riders. The guy has no bike, and has no reason to play the part other than the fact he ain't quite right in the head. I just ignore him. He'd pull his stunt whether I said something or not.

I'm thinkin' "Officer Friendly" may not be so friendly after all....
This thread actually ties in closely with the "SOA" thread. No one wants people around who pretend to be something that they're not. Or at the very least they will laugh at them.
