OK, so I realize I could just Google this but I wanted to get some answers from real riders....so here goes:
What is that long, braided leather tassel thingy I see hanging off some motorcycles handlebars? Is it just decorative? (Any of you have any questions that you didn't know when you started riding that now seem like "no brainers" now that you are wiser?) |

It's called a "get back whip".
One end has a quick release clasp and is weighted. That should be self explanatory. Nowadays mostly used just for show.
