So as a newbie, let me ask:

What do you use to clean your bike?

The guy I bought my bike from recommended "Protectall" and it works great.

I use meguiars auto wax in the paste on all the painted surfaces. This leaves an awsome shine that looks like glass and also makes all the black painted frame parts looks like new. Easy on and easy off. I also like the meguiars chrome polish, it makes the chrome shine like new. when ever i stop some where, whether its getting gas or just something to eat, i always get compliments on my bike.

I drive it through the brushless carwash.
Have not needed a shower in months.

I've been using Simple Green to clean it after long rides (bugs/road dirt, etc.) and use lemon Pledge for quick cleaning. I recommends using Simple Green in my Honda owners manual, so I went with it.

Has anyone tried S100? I keep hearing good things about it.

I use a bucket, car wash solution, and a rag. I dry it off by riding it.
