Its been said that, statistically, the average rider puts about 3000 miles on his motorcycle each year. Congratulations, you're average.

I don't think it's the BRAND it's the guy or gal ,,,and do they have the time to ride ,,,do they want to ride (enter reason or excuse for NOT riding here: bla bla bla ect ect ...) A few years ago I rode only 2,000 miles the whole year BUT I scuba dived (wreck & shark diving) all up & down the east coast ( put over 15,ooo miles on my "scuba Truck" I made choices that year I'd rather be under water...

THIS year so far I have logged over 20,000 miles between 2 bikes (Honda Gold Wing 06 and 05 Shadow Sabre...approx 14,000 miles on the Sabre 6,000 on the Wing....when I ride the bikes LOL I piss off my Dive buddies,,,when I scuba Dive I piss off my bike buds LOL "ya can't please everyone so ya gotta please yourself"

What song is that from??? I bet there's a guy in NH that knows....

Could you repeat the question? I am not sure I understand the "differences" and especially how they relate to road mileage between two brands of motorcycles.

I always reckoned that my bikes should have an "hour meter" rather than a speedometer.
Many of the places I ride can take 8 hours just to go 200 km.

I'll take a guess and say that more Honda owners need their bike as a means of transport while Harleys are more often weekend luxury. So, I'll say Hondas put on more miles.

rather large broom you are pushing that assumption with..there are more Sporty pilots alone then there are Honda Shadows period. Most Sporty pilots are not prima donna dentists or doctors out for weekend luxury. Then take into account all the old running Knuckles, Flatheads, Pans and Shovels.. if they are used regulatory you can bet they are not trailer queens.. but here's the real truth of it all.. I WILL bet money that the average under 250 cc SCOOTER rider.. out does BOTH!

Most Scooter riders have no choice but to ride them.I only saw 6-7 bikes out yesterday and 2 of them were scooters and Both tried to wave to me.
