Default Who rides more miles Hondas versus Harleys?

I'll put 3000 miles on my 2002 Honda Shadow Spirit last year. Are Harley Owners riding as much. How many miles did you ride on your Shadow last year?

I put 4,500 in just over two weeks this year on one of my bikes, there are people who dispatch ride for a living who do over 30,000 miles a year, some do more some do less..but many riders on here will do a lot more than 3,000..

I'm kinda with Dave on this but if you are insisting on an answer, by shear numbers all HD riders will out mileage Honda riders if we are talking cruisers, throw in scooters, all bets are off. I put around 7k on my bike this year which is nothing compared to some people on any number of brands.

Will only have had this bike for 9 months and I already have 9000 miles on it. Have no idea how that compares with anyone else. Except for riding in that thunder storm this summer, I've pretty enjoyed every mile.

Pretty much it right there.. but we could go onto a whole lot of different tangents.. like how many miles would one have put on this year if they were riding a rigid framed Harley as opposed to a full suspension Honda.. would the figures still be the same if your back and kidneys were being constantly slammed by potholes and bridge expansions...how about if we were to get in the time machine and scoot back to the days those Harley ( and other American motorcycles ) riders were riding those same non suspensioned bikes across main road ways that looked more like the road grandpa had going back to his outhouse thea the laughable highways they were called?

Red face Shadows

Just looking at the used bikes out there, you will see more shadows being sold with 70K miles than Harleys. I think the comfort allows the shadows to run up the mileage.

... if only Shadows were more comfortable than HD's. C'mon. Comparing a Shadow to most HD's is apples to oranges. Shadows make nice little commuter bikes. The old VT's and the newer 750's are light and nimble. Easy to put a lot of miles on them going home to work. No comparison though when it comes to being a true cruiser. Put 500 - 600 miles on a bike a day and I'm willing to bet MOST people will feel a lot better after doing it on a full sized HD than they would any stock Shadow.

More and more metric cruisers are showing up at the big bike runs... but they sure aren't Shadows.
