Love the idea. Wish there was a place local like this for me to go to.

Dave's DIY garage is the only one that is really appropriate IMHO.

you could shorten it to just "Dave's Garage", it sounds a bit more catchy to me, but you do lose the immediate recognition that you are a DIY-er business.

A lot depends on what you have thought through..Start serving cheap coffee and you will get people filling parking space and nursing coffee in the warm without paying towards the upkeep..if you want to serve coffee the prices should match Starbucks..if you don't make money you can't keep a business going..

Lending tools and giving tutorials is fine but you have to charge an hourly rate, you also have to charge daily storage for people who need to leave half finished bikes overnight..and you have to have a system where if someone starts a bike and walks away from it you can sell it after a certain time to pay for the storage charges..

Starting a new business is quite complicated..but if you are sure you can make a profit in these hard times when nobody want's to spend anything..why not just call it the motorcycle workshop..

And don't take cheques..

I would use the first one and add Motorcycle to the name! Dave's DIY Motorcycle Garage or Shop!
Sell some basics,like oil,filters and accessories! Get a couple hooters girls to sell coffee,sandwiches,etc.

When I was in the military they had a place on base that did this. It was called the auto hobby shop. It had lifts and rented tools and all that. We loved it! It's a great idea. The tool rental wool attract lots just because its cheaper and easier than buying all yourself.

Here in the CT area words like " Lounge & Cafe" mean BAR LOL so you might get some thirsty bikers looking for a cold beer lol
