I wear an old Apache armored leather jacket that I have had for years..I use a lot of boot polish and dubbin over the years and regularly get it soaked by driving rain,..Yeah it looks old but I feel comfortable in it..I don't know if they even make them any more.

I got a really nice one off Craigslist. $300 armored jacket for $100. Some really good deal out there from guys who thought they wanted to be bikers and changed their minds.

Jafrum.com, Leatherup.com and some others if your looking for a good $100 jacket.
I have a First Manufacturing leather that I purchased locally and it's nice. If you buy from one from one of the online stores most of their jacket run real small so order one or two sizes larger. I have had very good experiences dealing with Jafrums. I just don't like that most of their stuff is made in Pakistan.

You can find deals online but I really recommend shopping locally if you care about getting a good fit. Jacket sizes can really vary from company to company and by the time you pay return shipping, you may have just as well bought one from a local shop (if you're fortunate enough to have them in your area).

That bugs me too. A lot of the leather boxing gear I buy is being made in Pakistan now and the quality is really hit and miss (usually miss). A rider vest I just bought turned out to be made there too, though I kept the vest because it's actually really nice (First Classics brand, I think).

Just make sure that the jacket is cow hide and not sheep or goat leather. I have a Furygan jacket a, straight black regular M/C Jacket and a Joe Rocket. All are 3mm cow hide in the important places (elbow, shoulder) etc. Ask yourself a question, How would you like to be protected if someone came at you with an angle grinder ? And that's what the road is when you come face to face with it. Cheap stylish crap is worthless. Spend a little extra and be protected.

I got one from Leatherup.com made from Buffalo leather and it is tough and the one I use more I got from another forum member and both have removable armor in them in case I go down. Both are well made and only paid about $130 for the one from leatherup.com.

I also have the Olympia ! Best jacket I have ever had. Beats the old leather flight flight Jacket I use to have, and much better than most of the other riding jackets I have had in the past. The Zip in/out liner is a nice feature. It is extremely comfortable, and light. Best part is it fits in by bag's, all crumpled up, and comes out looking like it was on a hanger.
P.S. I got it a a local scooter shoppe that was going out of business. I am talking Scooter, not motorcycle, here ....For under $ 100.
