I've done group rides with my 600VLX and had no problem whatsoever. This includes a 7 hour ride earlier this year, hills and all, loaded with luggage for a weekend trip, almost entirely on the interstates.

Your 750 will do just fine.

Just hone your group riding skills and you're good to go.

Superboyx I want my bike to look like yours when it grows up, what type of hardbags are those? Can you post a link?

Your bike is plenty big enough but be careful about spending too much money too fast. My experience was that I switched bikes every year for the first three years I was riding. Not necessarily going to something bigger, just something different. It took me that much time to find out what I really wanted.
Be careful in those group rides. I've been riding only about 4 years but I avoid groups bigger than about 6. Too many possibilities for disaster.

They are Tsukayu Jumbo hard bags. Loads of storage space. One of the best add ons I've put on.

I won't address the "group ride" thing cause...I don't do them. Too many...never mined.

However...your bike will keep up fine. I don't know how fast these people in your group ride but...a Honda 750 will cruise all day at any speed they choose. I've cruised on highways for hours at 75 and 80 miles an hour. (Well...over 90mph might be a bit uncomfortable on a 750) I've ridden the 750 Shadows for eight years now. Great bike. AND...you have to be comfortable on what you're riding.

As far as the that group ride thing...yeah...everyone gave you good advice.

That's what I thought they were. I've been scoping those out and wondered what they'd look like on my bike. Now I know . Ok that's on my "dream list".

You sound like my husband. I think he's finally settled down after his 6th bike this year! I'm usually a pick something and go with it type of person, but I will be cautious

I have only been on a few toy runs and once leading a MC into a local camping area but I consider group rides a little dangerous for beginner riders. Here, there is a Sunday morning group ride done by local instructors and everyone with vests, instruction, well laid out palns etc and I have heard goot things about that one. Otherwise I just consider group riding an accident waiting too happen: too many distractions; too much noise; too much "having to keep up", and too many novices. On the other hand I don't go on the car group drives either so maybe just me.

You don't have to keep up, when you go for a group ride it is the ride leaders responsibility to set the pace at the speed of the rider behind him or her, that responsibility carries back to each rider so that the group rides at the speed of the slowest rider..If you or someone else holds them back too much they will not invite you on the next ride..

The idea of a group ride is for everyone to enjoy themselves, you should not feel under pressure..
