Default Helmet/visor screws came loose

Was riding home last night and my HJC modular helmet started making a heck of a racket at speed. Sounded like it was shaking apart. I was a very dark Interstate and there was nowhere safe to pull over to check it so I pressed on.

Inspecting the helmet this morning I discovered that the screws that hold the visor up/down mechanism to the helmet had worked loose, not all thankfully but 2 of the 4. Was an easy fix but I was surprised to see this happen.
Is this common? Guess I need to check those screws periodically.

I have a bilt modular helmet and noticed the screws that held the flip up front on were lose, I tightened those suckers down quick! Just goes back to you need to check all your equipment before you ride I guess...

I've had to tighten them up on my Vega modular once since I've owned it.

It has happened to me and I have the same helmet. You have to push the lever with the spring back (or forward not looking at the helmet now) and the visor will come off allowing you to tighten that back screw down tight.

Would maybe some clear fingernail polish on the threads hold them in place? Not enough to lock them down, but enough to stop them from backing out. Just wondering.
