I have the mustang wide and I'm sorry to say I really don't like it. I bought it based on its popularity here on the forum, but for me it ended up being uncomfortable. The problem is that the passenger pillion cuts into my lower back and after a couple hundred mile ride my back hurts for a couple days. If you get the chance to sit on one, I would before I spent all that money.

You have an alternative to the purchase of a commercial seat replacement.
Have your stock seat redone to your specs. I have the opposite problem from yours. Legs too short. 27" inseam. Have a couple of buddies with your problem. Robert Doerr at Robert Doerr - Home or Mean City Cycles could be your answer. Robert can rework your seat to move you back / forward / up / down / make it more narrow or wider. Add more padding or gel. Does great work and for a lot less than a Third part solution. Has done 2 seats for me and a backrest. One seat for the Spirit: One for the Rebel: ![]() Would have done the one for the VTX except I purchased and Ultimate ( also a great seat ) before I found him. Gain some length forward with the controls and gain some inches backward with a seat mod.

Thanks for all the advice. I tried the 3" forward controls and I wasn't impressed. It didn't change how I looked on the bike but it did change the handling characteristics. The gear change became sloppy and the materials were not up to the Honda standard. I removed them and went for a decent ride to confirm my decision and the bike is awesome again.
The photo below will show you what I mean by make it look small. Pretty funny really. My son said just lose some weight. He may have something there!

If your very tall and or big, not happy and feel the possible need to trade; sit on a Stratoliner or Roadliner.
Those two bikes are BIG, @ 5'10" I could not reach the highway bars, had almost foot long gap between me and my wife when she was on the back. The center of balance is very low, it was easy to lift off the kick stand They have good power, fuel economy for the 113ci/1854cc engine was the same as what I got on my VT1100 Shadow. Not trying to get you to switch just giving alternatives.

Dude, you really don't make that bike look so small. I mean sure, you're a big guy, but that bike looks fine with you on it. I guess I was picturing a gorilla on a rebel or something, but you look pretty normal on that saber. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the ride feels comfortable.

i agree you dont look to big for it, and we are about the same size and I went with the highway bars and 4" offset peg mounts. I can really stretch out on this bike. I also have rode bikes that have floor boards and really liked that option too.
