Having wrecked a few bikes and had my life saved by a helmet once already no argument will ever convince me that its somehow safer to ride without gear.

Do you wear boots? All that extra mass vs tennis shoes obviously causes broken ankles.

Sounds pretty dumb right?
nope don't wear boots either.. sorry.. you have done nothing to convince me.. since you cannot prove you would be dead without a lid your argument is anecdotal.

Since statistics supplied by NHTSA itself show there is no those wearing helmets have a higher fatality rate ( albeit slight ) there is no verifiable PROOF helmets have saved any significant amount of lives. On average the death rates are higher in helmet law states. The cost to treat head injuries in like accidents is the same , lid or no lid. One or two anecdotal bits of evidence to not facts make, yet there are many bits of anecdotal evidence showing kinks in the helmet saves lives argument.

As stated before.. ride with one if you want to, good luck and God bless..I'll take my chances without out one.. its worked for nearly 30 years now.. I expect to work until the day I have a heart attack on the way to the bike after eating too much lasagna.. see statistically speaking. your chances of dying on a bike really ain't that high to begin with.. you will probably get crushed and die while trying to get your silly seat belt off as the car catches fire anyway

Helmet threads should be like the old days, where helmet reports were put up and the merits were discussed in a reasonable manner.

Now it's like a religion, brings out all the preachers with their comments that we have heard time and time again.
