Amy here, 56 yr old girly grandmom of three boys! 1st bike Honda SL 70 circa 70-74. My age 14-18 - parents got divorced dad took bike - I never saw it again ...
Passenger on a few Honda 350s with the boys in my crowd in the day too.

Fast Forward 40 or so years - wanted a scooter to tool around the cabin area (central WI). Convinced hubby he wanted a motorcyle (has kept his license for 35 years without a bike!) not to hard to convince (Suzuki C50T) and I got the Honda Met.

After 8 weeks of 35MPH top end I decided I did really want to get a motorcyle license and bought my 750 Shadow Areo on my 56th birthday in September, passed MSF class in October and I am having a blast. Although riding season is pretty much over here till Spring.... Kids think I am crazy, grandboys think I am really cool!

I'm here! I'm 37, a mother of one and just learning to ride. I should have had my dad teach me to ride when I was a kid but I was always afraid to ask. So my boyfriend is teaching me how to ride. I have a '83 Honda Shadow 750 that I got from my dad in August.

So I'm taking it slow, my permit is good till May so hopefully by the spring i'll be up for taking the state basic training course.

56 year old grandmother (Dappy) to two. Never on a motorcycle until I decided to get one (Suzuki 250) in March. Took the motorcycle safety course and got the endorsement on my Mississippi driver's license. Moved up to the Honda Shadow 600 VLX in June and sold my car in July. Love, love, love riding. My husband rides a Yamaha Road Star (1600, I think). The only thing girly about my bike is my riding apparel... Pink is my favorite color and it goes very nicely with my white Honda, thank you very much. I get lots of thumbs up from guys on the highway.

My husband and I have a lot of irons in the fire, but our main business is running a boat tour (I'm a licensed boat captain) of the Pascagoula River marsh and swamp. Lots of fun and I meet people from all over the world.

Sounds like a fun group of ladies that I could learn a lot from. I've posted pieces about myself on other threads, but I'll try to condense them here...

I'm 38 and I have a 3 year old foster daughter and a wonderful husband. I'm the secretary of our local CMA chapter and I work full time for a national bank. Work is boring so I won't elaborate.

I just got my license in Sept after taking the MSF course and spent the next month riding around my neighborhood when I could get time. Having never ridden before, my 750 Spirit was much larger than the 250 Rebel they taught me on in the class so I wanted to get a lot of time in before hitting St. Louis traffic. I eventually left the hood for the open road and have loved every minute since.

I had a pretty short riding season because I found that I don't like riding in anything less than 60 degrees. My glasses fog up and I haven't figured out how to stop that. I asked in a post and got some great tips which I will be trying early next spring. It's now highs in the 30's and 40's here in Missouri and I haven't acquired enough riding gear to make that comfortable.

I absolutely love my Spirit but I think if I could have my dream bike, I would just take superboysx from him

And yes, I dropped my bike at a gas station in a hurry to get into the restroom. I forgot to put the kickstand down LOL! I had to have a couple guys help me get out from under it and get it upright. Ok, I'm a girl and I'll play the "girl card" if needed. I'm pretty quick to admit I don't know mechanics and feel no shame in asking for a mans help. Either my own man or someone elses.

Here's the proof I'm not an alien.... That's my husband, our baby and me on the left. We were with friends heading out to lunch. I didn't have my bike -the baby and I were in my cage that day.

Most of my uncles had motorcycles, so we'd met, but my father would never let one in the house when I was young. Then I never had the money or the space for one, but a couple of my boyfriends did. A friend of mine was selling her nearly new moped a few years ago, so I bought that since it was easy and there.
I finally bought my first bike this past summer, let it stew for a month until I passed the safety course I was signed up for, and then puttered around the neighborhood while I waited for the card to come so I could ride legally. My husband looks at me with concern every time I leave on it. He's not a biker, never touches the stuff, bless him.
I've known a couple of guys in the past who called to say they found a motorcycle I might like after I expressed the interest. Not at all concerned about my lady-ness.
Last summer, I rode to a park to see my nephew run, I had my full-face helmet on. When I parked the bike and took off my helmet, the guy in the car next to me said he was impressed with the way I handled the bike, and that he had no idea I was a woman until I took off my helmet. (he must've been blind) He also said that I inspired him to get his license. I guess he figured if a woman could do it, so could he. I had no idea you needed a penis to hold up a bike. It doesn't actually work as a kickstand.

I like the one with you in green myself. I am impressed by riders of either sex that show confidence in riding.. too many shaky riders out there these days..all nervous and second guessing themselves.
Men and women live together in life.. why shouldn't they ride together on the road, as in life some ride alone, some as partners, some two on one bike, some separate yet together.. ride on.
