Yes, I can and yes, it does....

The hands are a little less protected with only the mirrors to block the wind, but the feet and legs tuck nicely behind the fairing.

Last, but not least....

+1 on Gerbing heated gear. I have the Core 7.5v battery powered gloved and vest. My commute is an hour each way. On hi the batteries last about 2 hrs. That's plenty for the commute. I rarely have to use hi even down in the 30s. It was worth the nearly $400 I spent on everything.

I'll make that +2. They stand behind their products, too. A buddy gave me a used jacket liner last year that quit working toward the end of winter. On the advice of the local Gerbing's rep, I sent it back for warranty repair; and I got it back, good as new in about two weeks, free of charge. May as well give 'em a little love here.

It certainly helps but at the same time I've made 200 mile rides in the 20's on my Sabre, the secret is as folks have mentioned is layering. I typically wear long johns, jeans, two heavy long sleeve tees, my perforated overpants with rain liner installed and same for my jacket. Gerbing gloves, full face helmet and on the other end two socks and Rocky Tac boots w/ gore tex and thinsulate.

The Gerbing gloves were the best cold weather investment I've made.

Bigger Lowers and bar chaps made a huge difference on how much hits my legs and feet. I don't have to turn on the heated soles until 10-15 degrees colder than normal.

Yes … just got some for my father in law. They are different from the Gerbings in two ways. 7.5 vs 12 volt for the Gerbings. The heated area on the Cabelas gloves are on the palm side.

Good gloves but now what you want for riding the bike I don't think…. He does not ride - he is going to use them for going to late season football games and around the place on very cold days when he has to be outside.

And you live in California where it gets HOW COLD?? LOL!!
0 degrees F in Truckee, CA this morning, and my birdbath was frozen over here in the Sierra foothills near Sacramento. So it can get cold.

Maybe not where Joe lives, though.

Shaded thermometer said 28 F this morning here in Sack-a-Tomatoes, CA.
Best cold weather gloves I ever had were some snowmobile gloves. They were plenny warm and were quite waterproof. The only thing snowmobile gloves lack for moto riding is the heavier abrasion and impact protection.

I can't help too much. I got the cold weather gear from CycleGear. Socks, pants, shirt and neck thing. It was good to about 40 here, any colder and I can't ride. I have respiratory issues so it makes it tough to inhale cold air.
