I have heard that the Kawi Drifters have chronic problems but it's only what I have heard and can't back it up. Of course, I can say the same for Indians as well.

I have a 2006, 1600 nomad and love it . the weight can take a little getting used too at slow speed and parking but the ride is well worth the effort. There may be an plastic oil pump gear in your model. With the low mileage it may not been changed under recall. Might I add 11yrs and only 1,500 wow, some body must of scared themselves. good for you

As far as I remember they changed that for a metal one in 2000 so I should be ok, The only downside I can see is that it weighs more than an elephant, is a lot wider than a fat woman riding a horse, hits the wind like a pirate ship and only has a top speed of about 100 mph, it has a tank that holds about 4 gallons so should get my usual 100 miles to a tankfull.

It is as ugly as sin but somehow it is so ugly that I find is attractive.
