I was planning a ride with the PGR, but now I see a forecast of 50% chance thunderstorms night before and 30% chance Snowshowers the day of. Pretty bummed about it.

If you don't feel comfortable with riding in the snow (I know I wouldn't), then take the cage. It's far better than not going, and no one will mind.
Thanks for riding with the PGR. It's important.

I rode in the snow as a teen! I had a Suzuki 80 and my friend had a Honda trail 90. His Dad made us both outriggers for our bikes. Metal frame work with a small wheel and tire off a Go kart! It was fun! We didn't ride on the highway much, mainly on the neighborhood streets.

If you don't feel safe don't ride..riding in snow is a lot easier on a 50 to 150cc lightweight bike because you have some chance of holding it up when it starts to go..but on a bike that weighs 500lbs..well I wouldn't..

I hear up in Flagstaff there are riders all winter. News tonight announced mandatory chains on I-40.

I did it a few times on my old CX500 shadow but it really sucked. Snow is fun on a trail bike but I wouldn't take the Sabre on it unless I really had to.

Sure, back in the day (we won't mention year) I worked as a motorcycle courier in the Wash DC area. Riding in the N.Va snow wasn't the issue, stop lights and would your feet slip at the stop was the big worry.
You will be appreciated at the PGR service if you show up in a car or on a bike.
