Looking at your pics again... I really like it.
I would sell that windshield and bags to offset the cost of buying a color matched batwing fairing and a set of hard bags... Love it! That will be a very nice bike to last for years!

great looking bike! I nearly bought an identical one, but the POG issue scared me off and I went with the 1100 ACE.
enjoy it!

Congrats. I've long like the looks of the Vulcans. Sweet.

Thanks for the compliments. As far as the POG goes, I wasn't aware of it till I rode her home. Kinda short on time when I bought it. Didn't have time to research it without waiting over a week since I don't have a day off for a while. Plus, it was on Saturday and it was the last day open before Christmas and weren't going to re-open till Thursday (today) so I got anxious and pulled the trigger. There was a V-Star 1300 but it didn't speak to me when I sat on it. Then there was a VTX 1100 but the pipes were obnoxiously loud. This Vulcan I wasn't interested in at all but I sat on it to humor the salesman. It was surprisingly comfy and it really did feel right. Stock pipes gives it a nice tone, and won't set off my neighbor's car alarm like my last bike did. I don't mind aftermarket pipes as long as it's a deep rumble and sweet growl on acceleration but when your ear drums tingle... that's a bit much for me.
@ Dropkick: I can see a batwing in the future. For now though, the windshield will do and I may replace the bags with different (soft) ones soon, but I see a problem with hard bags. My first night out on this bike I did drop it (low speed, nothing hurt). The crash bar was a Godsend as it did what it was supposed to do. It protected the engine and it kept the bike at an angle which made it relatively easy to pick up. The problem is that if I did have hard bags on it the right side would have been damaged. Notice the Nomad has crash bars in front, middle and the rear. Mine only has the front. No protection for the hard bags. Thanks again for the comments. One more day under a shelter then the ice will be melted so I can ride her.

true, but the one I was looking at was a '97.
I read a bit about a fix, but I'm not that mechanically inclined if I don't have to be!
