Curious. I wear in the winter and leave it on the bike or on the ground next to it when I go into stores. Never had one stolen here. Does anyone think this is because helmets are optional here......or because I wear cheap lids...lol
Do you worry about you're helmet's getting stolen or have ever had one stolen from the bike? Sent from my GT-N7100 using Motorcycle.com Free App

I've always locked mine on the helmet lock. People steal everything that isn't nailed down anymore, including the tire valve caps. The economy seems to be making it even worse. Maybe a guard dog on the back seat....

Last week, I purchased a cabled masterlock from the general lock section of Walmart. It was around $5. People will steal anything and put it on craigslist, etc. When I purchased my shadow a few weeks ago it came with hard saddlebags that block access to the built in lock on the Shadow. I also purchased an actual helmet lock but could not find a good place to mount it on the bike.

If I leave mine I always lock it, If it disappears I'd be stranded, Helmet laws keeps me from leaving so its not worth the risk, More scum bags out there than good people in these parts.

I have seen many people just leave them on the back seat or sissy bar out here in Cali. I lock mine and when I get my new FF Bluetooth helmet it will get locked if its just for a short time. I will carry it with me if its going to be parked at like school I'm not leaving $300+ hanging off my bike I've seen to many punk kids try to be dumb I would not put it past one to cut the straps or d ring.
D rings are not important I cut one of mine off so it was not clanking together I get quick clips I hate messing with the strap. and just kept one d ring as a locking point. Vega Echo Quick-Release Clips - Street Motorcycle - Motorcycle Superstore |

This is a fast and inexpensive way to lock your helmet. Replace the clutch or front brake lever pin with one of these.
