At the moment, I'm using my steel-toed work boots.
When I rode in my youth, I'd wear western boots (as that's what the parents got me). I do plan on getting a dedicated set of boots of some sort to ride in, I'm glad someone started this thread.

I wear my combat boots. Desert tan, suede, steel toe, and lots of ankle protection. Belleville is my favorite brand.

I wear my cowboy boots too (Fat Baby's). They're light and comfortable, have a good sole but agreed that they probably don't offer more protection other than leather. My issue was I'm a pretty basic gal and I don't want a ton of shoes lying around - and I can wear these to work.

They are, but I needed something over the ankle, some adjustment over the arch (odd shaped foot) and decent flexibility. Unfortunately most of the boots that match this are either really expensive or off road specific.
The street boots that matched what I needed all seemed to be around that price range. Being somewhat overprotective of my foot, I figured the expense was worth it. Imp |

It's the best. Only about 10 minutes away from great mountain roads that gp to Big Bear, Julian, Santa Ysabel, Anza Borrego and a bunch of great roads. Where are you thinking about moving to?

I wear custom made leather boots. Leather beacause of winds and the looks. They are very deep. The first time a got a hornet below my ankle at 120 km/h i understood why so deep.
only a 100 euros, 9 years a go |

I'm feeling pretty good about my choice in riding boots right about now. I was hoping I wasn't missing something by not owning a pair of "biker boots".
I have several older pairs of western (roper) boots that I've put vibram soles on. Vibram soles last forever and don't skid at all. The western boot leather is cool enough down here in Texas summers and warm enough in our winters. I ride a lot, and to various places. I don't like the grungy biker look. Favor the upscale look. I ride to work regularly. We ride to dance halls and restaurants as well. Our footwear fits right in. Thanks for all the input.
