Default odometer reading on 1100 Aero

I read an odometer on a 1999 1100 Aero that said 134680. Do I assume that is 134,680 (83,686 miles)? I've seen bikes with this number of k's, plus I've seen bikes with 13,468.0 k's (8,368.0 miles). I'm just not certain how to correctly read it. Thanks!!

Is the last digit on the odometer the same colour as the other 5? If it's a different colour then that digit reads in the tenths of a km/mile.

In Ontario that would be a significant number of km since the bike would be stored 4 - 6 months but 13k means the bike was not ridden much at all. My 95 VT1100C2 has 5 black background digits for km and a 6th white background for 10ths. In this case you would not see any mileage over 100,000 since odometer will roll over so my guess is its 13k.

Anyone have more than 6 dials on the odometer ie 99,999.9 is the most that would be displayed?

Not sure about the odometer digits but if this is true it works out to a little over 10,0000 K or 6,400 miles per year. That is certainly possible here in New Jersey. Seems to me the owner was a dedicated rider. If your question is about wear and tear, I have seen bikes with many more miles than that. For instance, I had a customer at my bike shop that had a 1986 Yamaha Venture that had 210,000 miles on the bike and had used it twice for the Iron Butt run. I know an original owner of a 1977 CB750 with 130,000 miles on it. With proper maintenance and a willingness to keep the bike going, high mileage is certainly possible.

I have a 99 Aero with a metric speedo. It has a digital readout that measures in tenths of a kilometer, so I think it reads 13,486.0 k's .

I don't think it's his bike, so he can't just ride it. He wrote
I read an odometer

If it's for sale and you are considering buying it, test ride it..

Thanks for all responses! The bike did in fact have over 130,000 km's. If I do consider buying it, I will have my mechanic do a "leak test" on it, just to be sure. Have a great day!
