Default A ride around the Cape in Africa

Ok first few pics taken on Saturday. Basically got home after work and decided a quick trip on the bike was in order, you know, just checking it out to make sure it was in running condition for the Sunday ride. The idea of a cold, crisp draught beer was just a bonus! I am lucky that this town is only around 25km from my town and has a small pass, so I nice little ride. It's summer here, so almost everything is brown, but in winter the landscape is stunning. Will add Sundays pics in the next couple of hours - forgot to bring the cable! This area is well know for wine and olives - although vineyards can be found all over the Cape.

So the next pics where taken on the Sunday - I did around 200kms on the day a got 15.2kms/L. This is quite important as I found out that I do not have a reserve toggle! The longest stretch was 100km and there is no way I would ever enter an "iron but" type ride - I seem to be quite sensitive down there! I also found out that I am not much of a lone wolf, I get quite bored of myself - having the wife along is quite a bit more fun.

Will do - planning another ride for this coming Sunday - with the wife this time. But the heat does get to after a while, really saps your energy levels, I know in a week or two I am going to really look forward to winter.

Your weather must be a lot like here in Norcal -- brown in summer, green in winter. It took me a while to adjust to this upside-downess compared to my ancestral home in the midwest.

That would have been A ride around Africa in a Cape instead of A ride around the Cape in Africa.

Nice to see some warm weather pics.
