Default You do what you gotta do

Well, I was going to drive the car to work yesterday but the windshield was covered with snow so I had no choice but to take the bike!

I can certainly see that your options were limited. Just be thankful that you had a bike available. Otherwise you would have had to miss work.

Wallasan, I'm so low on gas funds (payday Friday) that I couldn't afford to take the bone dry car yesterday. Had to ride too. I was the only bike downtown Ft Worth in my regular parking spot that normally has easily 20 bikes.

That was a cold ride, wasn't it? Thank goodness for good gear.

If YOU were riding in this weather, you sure wouldn't be taking your hat off!

From a loony's perspective, it is worth it to see the look on people's faces!! I know it sounds crazy, but the first 6-8 miles are colder in my truck after I have warmed it up than jumping on the bike.
Coldest this year was 14.
I save 2 gallons a day when I ride, and it is much more fun.

The winter of 79/80 I rode to work everyday except the days that it actually snowed, although I did ride the next day. I had no issues with people driving vehicles with 4+ wheels as they all saw me. I know that because I had quite a few tell me that I was crazy. In the spring when the weather warmed up, other people got out their bikes. All of a sudden no one saw me and I was spending more time avoiding them than actually enjoying riding.

There are definately advantages to riding in the winter.
