This may be the most important ride this year.

Now is the time for us to remember and pay tribute to all those that we have known and loved that have lost their lives while riding.

June 25 , 2011 will be that day.

This ride is open to all and is not just an A.B.A.T.E. of Georgia event. A.B.A.T.E. District Coordinators and their Activity Directorswill coordinate the rides from each district. To find your closest district go to www.abatega.org and at the top of the page click on locate your district.

Please provide the names of those riders who have died, that you want remembered and e-mail them to Michael Collins keymanmc@earthlink.net the names will be collected and read at random during the Memorial Service. A bell will be rung after each name.

The CMA is putting together a fitting service for this memorial, a somber display will remind us of those friends and family members that we have come together for, and we will ask a few selected people to speak. We are planning on a Bag pipe player and a gospel singer to be a part of the memorial

This will be a very special day to memorialize and remember those whom we have lost. We hope to attract the attention of our lawmakers and enforce upon them the need for a stronger more viable awareness program in Georgia. We will seek to get their attention to enforce the Distracted Driver law to the Maximum and to make mandatory the equitable enforcement of fines for drivers that injure or kill a biker. Please plan on participating.

You may want to plan on spending the rest of the day in Atlanta and enjoy the Rock and Ride Festival in the Down Town area that afternoon.

I bought my Memorial Ride Armband today...
We`re organizing some of this ride along Interstate 75 from Valdosta to Atlanta meeting Bikes all along the way, growing larger as we travel north to Atlanta...
I urge YOU to be part of this Memorial Ride to bring awareness to loss of our GA riders...
I`ll post meeting places as I become aware...
A lot of ABATE monthly meetings will address this Memorial Ride this coming week, You are invited to attend these meetings...
D-1 Dalton area is the district most north along I-75 ~
D-13 Valdosta is the southermost district along I-75 ~
D-9 Columbus being the most westerly I-85 ~
D-15 Savannah the most easterly I-16 ~
D-8 Augusta central west I-20 ~
D-5 more north of Augusta I-85 ~
There is ample space for YOU!!!
