It was requested that a Map showing the Home Towns of the Confirmed Attendees be added to the Website. That has been done.

Go to the Link shown at the bottom of the Attendees Page to view the map.

Exclamation Feed back needed from Attendees

Heads up everyone ... I need to start gathering some information.

Yesterday I contacted the Trading Post in the Canyon to give them a heads up on the "Invasion" on the 9th. Was wanting to give them some advance time on getting supplies laid in and maybe extra help on the lunch shift. Looks as though we have a minimum of 35 so far for the Saturday meeting.

I am going need to do the same for the Rafter G on Saturday if we stop there on the swing back to Canyon after the Saturday planned ride.

It is also time to start considering if anyone is going to want to try and hit The Big Texas Steak Ranch on Sunday Ride on the backside.

If these are a couple of things we might want to consider I need everyone to chime in. Please let me know. Yea or Nea !! Don't be shy. I just need to see where the numbers are going to fall ... We can do things as a group or let guys/gals roll their own.

Getting some concrete numbers from the CONFIRMED group will help in extrapolating some numbers to go by.

Thanks everyone...

"Houston - We have a problem" ...

The Web Editor I am using seems to have a "SMALL" quirk. Cannot remove the "read more" link at the bottom of each blog entry on the Updates page. It appears no matter whether there is more text or not. As of now there are NO Updates entries that are longer than what appears on the page.

I cannot get this problem solved. None of the support forums for the Editor have an answer and it seems to be a "bug" everyone is having to live with.

If it wasn't for having to rebuild the entire site I would change apps and solve the problem but I am just too dam_ lazy to do so... Gee, honestly is freeing. Of course I know that it doesn't solve the problem.

Please excuse this irritation for now and forgive my laziness.

I have a phone call appointment in the morning to have a chat with the Palo Duro Park Superintendent. Found out doing some reading and research on the Canyon that LARGE groups need to inform the Park Administrators of their gathering. I don't know that we are considered a LARGE group but thought I would make them aware of our arrival. That will let the Park personnel know of our group coming in and also the Trading Post to lay in supplies for the "gathering".

Going assure the Supt that the Son's of Anarchy are not arriving and that we will be a civil group of mostly middle aged to "old" guys just gathering for a fun time. ( ok nobody takes offense, I am one of the "old" guys )

I think were sitting a 36 confirmed - I have some non forum guys who have 95% committed but waiting on final "CAN DO" before posting their numbers.

Hoping to gain at least 10-12 more in the next 3 weeks and maybe then get a few late to the party guys to get to the 50 mark.

I really hope some of you Okie guys from the Shadow forum I am trying to prod into taking the plunge will join in.

Hoping this little shindig is a success and fun time for everyone.

I really wanted to make this but if everyone is doing the motel instead of camping I think I will pass. Hope everyone has a good time.

The Palo Duro Park Supt. returned my call this morning. They have had intermittent phone service for the last 5 or 6 days. Last weeks storm that dumped 3 feet ( yes feet ) of hail on the area also produced lightning that damaged their communications tower on the rim of the Canyon. He said he was trying to catch up on several days back log of calls he was needing to make.

I told him of our trip into the Canyon and our numbers. Told him I had seen they would like to have any groups call in advance. He was appreciative of the "heads up". He said "Welcome to the Canyon and have a good time". I did verbally assure him we were not the Sons of Anarchy rolling in.

We have now followed proper channels and procedure and have the blessing and clearance of the Park Administration.

Nearing the 50 day countdown mark !!

I made Atl GA to ABQ NM in two days. But then I made ABQ, NM to SEA WA in two days, maybe I ride too hard. TN to TX is I 40 and not much to slow you down.
