Default New Hampshire Covered Bridge Run - info

I just got an extremely informative and lengthy email from NH DOT and this has me so revved up to ride and go see some History while enjoying these great roads! I know we all can't ride every weekend and such, but I also would really enjoy sharing this quest with any other riders that would care to join in. There is certainly something to be said for a "Tour" of this nature to be completed in one riding season on a motorcycle.

So here is my invitation and challenge to all who accept it. If you can, please let me know here in this thread if you would like to take part, Why? Well, for those of us who are lucky enough to "finish the tour" I have (will have) a patch for you to go on your vest, jacket, or where ever. I have what I feel is the perfect design and when it's ready I'll post it. So I need a pretty accurate head count for who thinks they may try this so I can get enough patches made.

You do not need to ride with me to get the patch, but you must show proof you completed the tour via pics of your bike at each NH Covered Bridge. The list of bridges will be posted soon. The list I have will serve as master list in order to be eligible for the patch. (This is just my greedy way of making you be my riding buddy and hopefully my friend) I currently have just 6 day trips planned and routed to make a visit to all the bridges. These trips will be designated as Covered Bridge runs and will not impede on any other planned rides. I have no qualms about doing these rides multiple times if you cannot make a certain ride date and/or rather not do it on your own.

Expect the first official run to be within the next few weeks. If you are up to the challenge, so that we can get a group together, post some possible dates you are available. Each ride will have meeting/pickup points prior to arriving at any of the Bridges, most rides will start and finish in the Central Corridor of NH but you can pick up the ride along designated stops prior to the first Bridge of the day, or even meet at a particular bridge of your choosing that is on that day's ride. Once the last Bridge of the day is visited you are welcome to continue the rest of the ride or head off on your own way.

I have gone ahead and scouted some questionable sites for motorcycle friendliness so most rodes should be passable rather than having guys in the back of the pack being swallowed up by dust from a dirt road.

Now... who's in for building some really cool memories and obtaining a patch you can brag about?

Hey, I'm in Methuen and am planning on doing a bunch of riding in NH this summer. I don't know if I can hit everything, but I am interested in taking part. I spend some time each summer in the Ossipee area, so I know I can hit the bridges up there no problem! I'm not sure about my availability at the moment as it seems like everyone I know has kids graduating something or another! Hopefully I can join up some rides at some point.

Run 1 of 6 has a good potential to start this Sunday after an early lunch at Goody Coles on Brentwood NH right off 125. Anyone interested should respond to this post.

Goody's Menu...
From there, we ride to Cathedral Ledge Intervale NH (Just north of North Conway) then 7 of the 54 Bridges on our way back south along lake Winnipesaukee.

Curiosity has the better of me.. how do you legally plan on getting pics of the bikes with either the Sentinel or the Flume seeing as they are in the confines of this

The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation : Flume Gorge & Visitor Center

the Flume itself I can see the possibility of greasing palms, but the sentinel is for all practical purposes inaccessible , now if you have already thought of and conquered these obstacles great.. if not I felt the need to give you some food for thought

by the way.. however you resolve it.. they are both beautiful covered bridges..

I can most likely make this! I know I'm new to the forum, so I hope I'm welcome! I have just got back to riding after a 15 year layoff and have never rode in a group larger than 2. You'll be taking of from Lebanon now?
