Me and Rick were throwing around the idea of doing a ride up to grey-bruce to check out the fall colours, only mid week this time. Maybe a wednesday or something. We thought we'd check out Beaver vally, and then Rick has some road along Georgian Bay shoreline in mind.
If you can get a day off work, let's hear it and maybe something can get worked out.

I have a day and a half of holidays left this year so I can swing it. It would a such a fun ride! Who else is in?
A week this Wednesday is October 3rd. Would anyone be able to swing that so soon? Or maybe the week after that on the 10th, but would the leaves be gone by then? Ideas? Suggestions?

Here's a link to the ontario parks fall colour report:
http://www.parkreports.com/fall/ Places in the Grey-Bruce area are already 30% changed. I think Chris was saying that anyway on the weekend. Maybe we should shoot for next Wed (oct 03). I'll book the day off if other people are in agreement.

I won't be able to make any mid-week rides. I am going to Huntsville and Rosseau this Friday though. One last big ride before going back to work. Any takers?
I'll be at Duff's Corners around 5:30 a.m. and leaving around 6:00 a.m. Slight change of plans. Leaving Saturday, returning Sunday.

Damn, no can do this Friday.
But I can take October 3rd off. I don't need to give that much notice but I'm assuming some of you do. Want to catch the colours before the leaves drop. Are you in Rick? For the 3rd? Anyone else?

The 3rd is no good for me. I'm working on a major RFP right now and my calendar is getting booked pretty solid... the week after next might be a go..but it depends on how my workload looks then.....
I'm thinking now that maybe planning this for a Sat or Sun might work out better for some of the other Shadownet riders to participate. The other thing I was wondering Willie, was how would your ride would be getting out of TO with early morning work traffic ...same getting home?? Last time, we all met in Guelph, but given commuter traffic during a workweek... not sure how much fun that will first thing in the morning. Thoughts? Besides...I'm sure Shadownorth would like to have another chance at getting started in Beaver Valley!!

Ended up with the whole weekend off so Sandy and I went up to the Bruce area on Saturday and Sunday. Been away so much this season we needed to get away together. Colors are coming along. Stayed over in Owensound and then rode around Colpoys Bay. Excellent weekend of riding. The roads up there are super.
If you are going to eat at Ted's Range Road Restaurant you must make a reservation at least a week out for the evening and its not cheap. $75 for supper without drinks . Hours on the weekend are 10- 2 and then 5-10pm. Lunch would probably be less and should not need a reservation. Food was EXCELLENT. |
