I just found this site and I'm wondering if their are any others from the island? I have been riding my 05 KLR650, but a few too many falls and injuries have me seriously looking at switching to a cruiser. I would like to hook up with anybody that is in ther area for coffee at Timmies, and of course rides when the weather improves. By the way I have some riding buddies on the mainland as well, so feel free to let me know about you guys/gals as well. I will be putting up for sale my KLR sometime soon, and will be looking for feedback on bikes such as 750 vs 1100 Shadows, Kawai 800 Vulcans etc.
Look forward to a chance of meeting some of you. VIMike |

Hi, I'm not out that way, but wanted to say hi and welcome to the forum!
Check out an area Chapter of the CanadianMotorcycleCruisers, if there is a Chapter near you, you're bound to find some nice people to ride with. http://www.cmcnational.ca/

Log on to;
http://www.bccruisers.net/forum/ for B.C. rider connections and info on local rides. My previous bike was a Shadow Spirit 750. Awesome bike!

[quote="Lisa"]Hi, I'm not out that way, but wanted to say hi and welcome to the forum!
Yes you may not be in/from my part of the country, but I sure was from yours before I moved here. Well at least let's say closer via North Bay( where I was born), Toronto(Downsview to be exact), and finally Ottawa before I moved to the coast to escape the often oppressive humidity and snow. So again thanks for the welcome. Oh nice ears by the way Hello fossil (not). Yes I have already regsitered on with the same handle on BCCruisers, but thanks anyway. I haven't really heard back much from that group as yet. I was number 262, so it has only been a week or so, but I will continue to monitor that site as well. I appreciate your endorsement of the 750 Shadow, but would like to hear more about it from those who have or had one. So please feel free to pm if you are up to it. Thanks again and maybe we will hook-up sometime when I'm on your side of the pond. VIMike |

Hay there, I'm an x-pat from the island now exiled in Torontario. Have some friends in Parksville who ride and may be able to give you some pointers. If you want me to contact them let me know.
I will be out next year for my mom's 90th birthday (she lives in French Creek now with my baby sister). We have major snow falling right now, but only 7 more paychecks until riding season. Bill

When I first saw your handle I thought this guy's got to be from around here, otherwise the Nanoose part really through me off. So yes if you have any bud's who might be cool with that idea I would be to. I am one of the moderators for Dualsportbc.com., and have met many guys wanting to hook up with other ds riders. we have been meeting for over three years down at the Starbucks at the Woodgrove Chapters store on Thursdays. However for quite a while I would notice a pack of cruisers there on Wednesdays, but not so much in the past year or so. So yes I would be up for meeting some more cruiser dudes & dudettes. Thanks for your reply, and you have my sympathy living in T.O. I myself moved to BC in 1977 from Ottawa, via North Bay, and Downsview Toronto as well. I don't miss the snow, humidity, black flies, horse flies or the blasted mosquitos. Seven more cheques, won't be long now.
Cheers VIMike ps My home number is 954-3883, and work is 758-6969(Nanaimo). Plus remind them to say that they are friends of Nanooseboy otherwise let me know your name. Bye for now. |

Oh well, guess I'lll have to content myself with installing some more farkles on the bike this weekend. Barb
