Update On The Gas Situation - Honda Shadow Forums : Shadow Motorcycle Forum

As of today the gas situation has improved and there are a lot more stations with gas and the long lines are all but gone. I would say by Friday we should not have any problems finding fuel. They are saying that it will be about a week to 10 days before the gas will be back to a 100 percent. Most of the larger stations have the fuel but a lot of the little mom and pop stations are still having problems getting the fuel but there are a few of them that do have it. I just hope that we do not have to go through this gas situation again.

Thanks for the info. I was just getting ready to post about it. Do you know if the situation extends to the Hendersonville area too?

Latests news reports specifically mention western North Carolina as being bad yet...

Thanks for the encouraging news! Things are slowly improving here, too.
It would have really bit to have to sit and play hearts on a great riding day because we couldn't find go juice.

Overall the situation has improved greatly since last week. The Hendersonville area will be the same as Asheville. We rode Sunday and we were in the Brevard area and did not have any problems finding gas. By Rally time it should be even better unless something drastic happens.

fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!........Brevard is one of the areas we are riding through on Sat. The highlands would be where we need to get gas for some on Friday, I wonder if anyone would know how we could check that? or get a zip code for there......

from a friend on another forum regarding gas:

I drive/ride from one side of Henderson county through Hendersonville to work. There were many more stations with gas today than over the weekend and shorter lines.
Sorry I didn't notice premium or not.

I had a good laugh this morning because the Philadelphia news was reporting long lines and gas shortages in North Carolina. Nothing like keeping current with TV news.

My contact in Hendersonville says the gas situation is improving but still sproatic. PREMIUM gas is harder to find, and that is what I run in the tank. So I plan on having some additive on hand.

SO..... everyone saddle up and see you in a few days. I wish I could be there for the Friday rides! Y'all be safe.

NY Times had an article about it dated for Tuesday. Mentioned KY, TN and a couple of other states. Also made it sound like it would be a serious problem for weeks.
