Default Trouble With Engine Swap.

Hey,

Just bought my first Shadow recently....97' 600. Well shortly after
buying it (1 Month), the engine gave out on it. I bought a new engine on ebay (From a 2000 model) and they mount up exactly the same but I'm having a problem with the carbs. My 97 has dual carbs but the 2000 model has a single carb. How can I get this to work? I would hate to sell the new engine and try to buy another one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a intake for the new engine? You could try one of your carbs. Or does our old intake bolt up? If so, I would try it. If not, you may need to sell your intake and carbs and buy a single intake and carb...

Default Swap

One carb from a two carb setup will be too small used in a one carb setup.
Your best bet it to find a correct intake setup for your engine or look for another engine.
