Default Help - Where to buy crab parts

I need to buy a new float valve (some folks call them needle/seat) and a petcock for a '99 VT1100CA. None of the online sources that I find carry anything except the outrageously expensive OEM parts. Does anybody know of an aftermarket source?

Thanks,

Richard Gray

Where are you looking? How much $ are the wanting.
Get used to bike parts being expensive. There are no really cheap parts for bikes, just less expensive. You might to look for some kind of Carburetor supply house, instead of motorcycle parts houses.

I would try to find your crab parts at the local super market... but if you are looking for carb parts... try servicehonda.com.. better prices than local shops (usually)... and decent shipping.

The OEM's are $73 for the petcock, $50 for the float valve and $27 for the gaskets. I have found aftermarket float valves with bowl gasket for earlier VT1100's for $20-30 marketed by K&L (I think that's right) but don't know if they would fit the '99 Aero.

IDK if they cross either but it is easy to check. Go to any OEM site and look-up the part# for both Bikes, see if they match. That ServiceHonda site look pretty reasonable. Gaskets and orings should be easier to get although still not cheap. The other parts are going to be mostly OEM.

This is one of the best places I've found to buy them.

You could check out ronayers.com, they are slow shipping, but prices seem to be cheaper than most. I bought a brand new carb for my bike and it was the cheapest I could find anywhere for an OEM brand new carb. It looks like the petcock from them is $56.10, $26.83 for the float set.

Ordered the parts from ServiceHonda, Petcock list $73+/cost $55.69, float valve list $50+/cost $37.70 and gaskets list $27+/cost $20.32. So, y'all saved me $37+ dollars and for that I say a great "Thank You!"
