All of the above.
Start with adjusting the clutch, clutch plates might just need to wear-in a little. What oil did you use?

BUT, if it sat the carbs do need to be cleaned. Is the gas fresh?

What brand of oil?, some oils brands/ types will cause clutch slippage

The bad gas is most of the issue. After three years carbs will need to be removed cleaned, dipping and soaking will be best. rest of fuel system will need to be flushed and filter replaced.
If the oil says anything abouts Fuel saving or energy efficient on the rating label, it can cause slippage. 20-50 is kinda heavy for your bike also, may be getting some parasitic drag in the clutch, drop down to 10-40 as the heaviest oil you run.

As for the oil, don't anything heavier than called for in the manual. Unless it is pulling when the clutch lever is pulled in and in 1st gear, leave it be, shouldn't hurt anything.

Fuel system flush, Drain tank, put some acetone in it slosh around, disconnect fuel line at the carburetor, and crank the motor 5 seconds at a time till most of the acetone is out of the tank, Change fuel filter, refill tank with fresh gasoline.

Remove and clean the carb good, idea... Do NOT separate the carbs. Remove both the float bowl and floats, top cover and slide OK. Be careful not to damage the diaphragm or needle.
