Was cleaning the bike this afternoon getting ready for a long weekend. and I noticed a long crack in the side corner of the overflow tank. It goes from the top corner straight down to the bottom corner.
Called the dealer and of course none in stock and the earliest I can get one is next friday.... ANy recomended temporary repairs so I dont lose a whole 4 day weekend of riding? and what would cause this to crack? Thought about using JB weld on the crack as a temporary repair...

JB weld should work fine just make sure it is clean and rough it up a little I patched a big crack in the actual tank of my radiator on my pick up truck and it held for 2 years.

JB Weld will probably crack or break over time as it sets up brittle on plastic and doesn't expand and contract as the same rate as the plastic (had experience with this application) so it's not going to last.
A better choice is automotive GOOP or plumbers Goop, which sets up like real hard rubber and can makes a better patch. It will flex with the plastic and keep it sealed for many years. Try it, you'll find alot of other uses for it too.
