Default Weird running problem

A couple weeks ago, I drained the battery on my '05 Spirit 750. I finally had some time to ride so I jump started it off a car battery. It started fine but idled strange and when I revved, it seemed to be running on only one cylinder. I let it warm up for about five minutes and then it died. It wouldn't start up again. No power. The lights weren't even dim. I've had no problems with this bike at all before. Next chance I get, I'll recharge the battery, but I'm wondering if anyone knows whats going on. Thanks

My guess is your battery is shot now. Can't jump your bike w your car; too much power

The car wasn't running so that battery couldn't have been putting out more than 12.8 v right? Would a shot battery cause it to run like that though?

Try putting your battery on a charger. Do not jump start using a car.

SS, as suggested, try using a real charger to charge it.

You may have killed the battery. Not by jumping with the car, but if it was drained enough, some batteries can't recover. Without good battery power, you will be losing fire power to the plugs.

The bikes charging system is NOT designed to CHARGE a dead battery. It can only MAINTAIN or retore a batteries charge. Bike won't run correctly with a dead or weak battery.

You can as long as the car is not running.

Update:
Trickle charged battery at the recommended 24 hours
Battery tests at about 12 Volts
Lights work but no crank (buzzes when I push the button, I think that's the solenoid). No odometer display and Neutral safety indicator does not work.
Could this still be a battery problem?

Put a voltmeter across the battery. When trying to crank it, does it drop considerably? If so, I would replace the battery.
Don't know about the neutral indicator, this should not effect it at all.

i had a battery short out, last year, bought a new 1 and it lasted about 6 months, after talking to different people, they suggested getting a gel cell battery, that they last longer, and are more vibration resistant. that being said you are better off to get a new batteryand sloive the problem
