Default VT-500 Midrange Power Loss

Hey guys, I adjusted my valves a couple weeks ago and am now experiencing almost no torque at mid range/high range RPMS. Its worth noting that I have only headers on for exhaust and I'm hoping that that's the problem. However not quite sure. Anyone had this problem before? Thanks

If you did not rejet the carbs, that will most likely be your problem.
did you put the header on?
did you buy it like that?
how long have you had this lack of power. since the open header?
need more info on the bike, and the changes you made to the bike, when your problems started.

bought the bike with full exhaust. Ordered new pipes, took the old exhaust off while waiting for the new pipes in the mail. didn't get the pipes so i emailed the company and found out they no longer carry them. put just the headers back on.
As far as the carbs go, I had them overhauled and supposedly rejetted, however i had major issues with the company that did it. They broke my rocker box in the front cylinder somehow and refused to admit it. So as to whether or not it actually got rejetted i'm not really sure. Had the lack of power since i realized that they didn't connect the carb right, (air leak from the boot to the front cylinder. So i pulled the carbs , opened them up to check for issues inside, found none.

Still no real exhaust? How many posts is this now and you still have not listened to the advice given?

Your exhaust sucks.

Your "rejet" most likely sucks.

Go back to stock on all parts and start from there. You need to have a good starting point.

Hard to help, when you don't even know what you have? Need to know all mods. If rejeted, too what? WHY? What mods were ON THE BIKE when the shop did the work. If they jetted they would jet to what was installed not what was intended to be installed. If you don't know open the carbs and LOOK. Were valves adjusted too tight or timing not reset correctly. If the answer is not YES or NO, you need to open-up the covers and LOOK.
