I added floorboards on my 04' VT600CD VLX yesterday and then realized I coud not shift out of neutral. I searched the forum and figured out (I'm not mechanically inclined) how to loosen the lock nuts and twist the shift rod to raise the lever and it now shifts. The problem is that its not raised enough to get my boot under the lever. I have raised it as high as it will go and still shift through all the gears properly. Please help! I need more height out of my shift lever.....

Disconnect the shift lever at the tranny, then move it in the appropriate direction on the splines. One spline at a time since it makes the shift lever move quite a bit!
