Was gonna plasti-dip my spoke rims black or red, but i stumbled onto this stuff. Dupli-Color :: Metalcast Anyone tried it or seen it on anything? I was thinking this might look pretty bad ass actually in red on the rims. it says it's specially formulated to stick to chrome so i'd think it'd be durable, at least moreso than plasti dip Or this stuff looks great too. Dupli-Color :: Shadow For the black rims maybe?

So what is the prep for this paint on the bare metal. I have been looking for something like this, I just curious how it sticks.

I tested some on an old set of chrome exhaust shields I had layin around. Did some light surface sanding with 600, seemed to stick ok, but I didnt run em on the scoot. Not sure how durable it is, but been holding up good on the helmet (but the helmet is also cleared)

They sell an adhesion promoter spray they recommend using. They have a bunch of videos on their site i was watching to see if i could get a better idea how this stuff worked. They say NOT to sand or scuff the surface as this stuff is transparent and you'll see the scuffing.

I've used it quite a bit. Its basically a candy and almost looks like anodizing on chrome or polished surfaces. I've found it works best if you bake it on at 250 degrees (if your wife will let you contaminate the oven
You can see how I used it in my thread here: My 1992 VT1100C (Re)build thread
