I do want to add that this is the crucial area you want to be sure not to cut too far down (this and the upper spring hat area). This pic is the bottom spring seat. Don't cut any lower than what I show here. If you cut just outside the 3/4" taped area, as long as you've centered the tape inline with the adjustment holes, you'll be golden.

any cons of doing this? im thinkin about doing it to mine...just dont want to mess anything up and have to buy new ones..lol
